A Poem by Lona Gynt
Musk has called the poor parasites
While he feasts on their bodies.
Vance waves his finger at a
Courageous leader who has
Given everything for his people,
While Vance has given up the
One truth he ever spoke when he
Identified America’s Hitler.
Adolf Trump has said we need
To fight or we won’t have a
Country left, while he has blankly
Fed on our fears and our bigotry.
But he didn’t steal it.
We the Sheeple gave it to him, behind
Our gated communities in Sandy
Parsing from
Behind the walls of our Sanctuaries,
Whether we can even drive someone to church.
Thinking we keep our faith, when we
Have the hubris to hold it as as empirical
Fact and thereby truly lose our faith like
Water through our grasp.
We have become stock
Homogenous smoothie blended
Cast into the rendering,
And to the devourers with blank eyes
We all just taste the same.
The poor and
The workers are bound in the cages,
Or cast upon the waters
While we have used
Our freedom to escape
From freedom,
Embracing first our fear,
and then our tribe,
And finally our hate.
And then our
Fear Again.
No place is safe,
We are encircled.
We are undone,
We don’t need to hold the cards,
What we need is courage.
The Courage to be Human
To see Humans,
To not wait for a redeemer,
But to have courage now.
Solzhenitsyn told us not long ago
How Stalin would make the first person
Who stopped clapping
Disappear.
We don’t need just one,
We need five.
We need the courage of
Five Republicans to save our country,
To stand for People over Party
For Freedom over Filthy
For America over Ambition.
Firing the IG’s alone is impeachable,
And there is so much more.
We only need five who can still hear
Who can stop the Fear
Who can look inside and see
There is still a person there.
Call to them, write to them,
If they don’t answer
We are already
lost,
Arms aching,
Blistered,
Drowning in the applause.
